BEWILDERING
I bet you'd never guess what materials are used for these gorgeous jewelry by Sue Urquhart!
Actually, the silver part is easy – it is Precious Metal Clay (PMC), but what about the color? I was so sure it is polymer clay – what else can it be, right? Wrong! This is actually tinted concrete...

Very cool! How innovative!
ReplyDeleteYes, it looked like heavily textured pc to me as well. But when I read your explanation I had to check it out at the owners shop. I think she is misguided in her description. That couldn't possibly be concrete, cement maybe more likely tinted grouting used in stained glass mosaic application ( I've used this myself and recognize the consistency and texture). If it were truly concrete those necklaces would be giant scale, as concrete contains pebbles, sand, or broken stone and cement. :) Interesting nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteI would have never guessed that these beautiful pendants were concrete! What an inspired choice of material with such a lovely outcome.
