RARE

There aren't that many polymer clay vases on Etsy (or, to be more accurate, vases decorated with polymer clay), so I was happy to see the ones by Adrianne Kinsella, a Canadian artist from Ontario. Adrianne works with recycled glass, which she paints with translucent acrylic glass paint. She applies her polymer clay details using her own technique, which she developed over 14 years.

Find these and other works by Adrianne in her shop, kissinglass.etsy.com.

GRACEFUL

People who frequent Etsy.com would not be fooled by these pictures since the works of Kim Westad graced Etsy front page so many times. But if you did not know it is porcelain, wouldn't you mistake it for polymer clay?

Lovely idea for polymer clay, by the way, - cover a glass vase with clay in one color, followed by another, add just a little texture, and you are done.

I am not suggesting to copy Kim's designs as they are, I am just saying that borrowing an idea from one medium may be quite fruitful for another.

VERSATILE

Sculpted creations by Mary Ellen (Beetree by M.E.) portray the versatility of polymer clay itself. I am amazed by the array of her creative ideas. Here are just a few of my favorites: Heads and Tails refrigerator magnets, fairy pendant, and a mini-vase pin that can hold real flowers. Visit her shop and blog for more.
